Easy mode

In easy mode, the child will wander around the house or classroom with a refrigerator magnet, trying to stick it to various objects. They’ll quickly see that the magnet sticks to some things but not to others, sparking their curiosity.

Hard mode

In hard mode, the child will not just discover, but also categorize. They will make a list, either drawn or spoken, of what the magnet sticks to and what it doesn’t. This will engage their critical thinking and observation skills.

Challenge mode

In challenge mode, the child turns into a ‘Magnet Detective’. Their mission is to find and classify 5 magnetic and 5 non-magnetic items in the house. This exercise will test their understanding of magnetism and improve their problem-solving skills.

  • Remember to supervise the child during this activity to ensure they do not swallow the magnets or try to stick them to electronics
