Easy mode

Start by imitating simple animals. Can you meow and walk softly like a cat? Or maybe you can hop around the room like a frog? What about waddling like a duck? Try as many animals as you can think of!

Hard mode

Now let’s make it a bit harder. Can you combine the movements of different animals? Try hopping like a frog, then waddling like a duck, then slithering like a snake. You can even add your own ideas to make an ‘animal obstacle course’!

Challenge mode

Ready for a real challenge? Now try the same ‘animal obstacle course’, but add some speed or count to it. How fast can you complete the course? How many times can you do it in a row? The more you play, the better you get!

Some prompts to encourage the kid

  • Wow, you’re a fantastic frog!
  • Can you move faster than a cheetah?
  • What a great bear walk — you’re doing great!
  • You’re a natural at this!

Important things to keep in mind

  • This activity helps children develop their gross motor skills and creativity
  • You can encourage them by participating or by cheering them on
  • You can also adapt the activity to fit the child’s ability level and interests.
